Classic Ridgway Films Shorts, Now with Commentary and Outtakes!

More unreleased old stuff from the Ridgway Films archives!  Since The Fabulously Random Junk Videos of Sweetness DVD has been out of print for awhile and will probably never come back, I decided now is a good a time as any to release the original commentary tracks and raw footage reels from that DVD, for general consumption.  Here is the first batch… maybe more to follow?  Enjoy!

Earthbound Episode 6: The Original Music

Did anyone notice that Earthbound Episode 6 featured quite a bit of new music?  No?  Well, for the latest episode, we wrote several new tracks using recognizable themes from Earthbound.  We also utilized the original soundfont from the game, to give it that authentic Earthbound feels.

Now you can download all the music we wrote for the latest episode, which includes several previously unheard cues that got cut from the final edit.  Enjoy!

Sam & Max: Best Game Never Released?

Today, on the ten-year anniversary of what can only be described as THE GREATEST TRAVESTY THAT HAS EVER ROCKED MANKIND TO ITS CORE, we remember the cancellation of what could have been the greatest point-and-click graphic adventure game – nay, the greatest game, period – of all time:  Sam & Max:  Freelance Police.

And who better to respectfully commemorate this lost classic than the unflappable duo of Mark and Alex, in a video about breaking into the abandoned LucasArts offices in order to recover the beta files for the cancelled game? You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll try to combine inventory items senselessly.  But most importantly, after watching this film, you’ll spread the word about the evil corporate injustice that still echoes in our culture ten years later… right? RIGHT?

Seriously though, we had a lot of fun making this one, so please let us know what you think!  And be sure to check out the (rather lengthy) outtake reel too:

The Midnight Con: Film Festival Screening!

Midnight Con Big Screening Banner

You thought it was gone forever, but no – The Midnight Con is relevant again!  Our recently-completed feature film is going to be screened in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the 15th Annual Bare Bones International Film & Music Festival!

The film will be screened on April 8th at 6 PM in the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.  The Ridgways will be in attendance – please let us know if you’re going so we can say hi!

Also, you may have noticed we completely redesigned our website!  For no particular reason, other than the old theme was looking a little stale.  Check out the super-cool randomized banner up at the top – a new feature that’s sure to waste endless hours as you try to see all of the hundreds of pictures we’ve uploaded from throughout Ridgway Films history.

That’s all for now!  A new video is coming next week – stay tuned!

Earthbound Episode 6: Lumine (Part 1)

FINALLY.

The wait was long.  The tears were shed.  The patience was worn thin.  But at long last, the dudes at Ridgway Films have gotten off their lazy bums and completed the next episode in the long-running Earthbound series… or at least, the first 22 minutes of it.  But think of this half-episode as a reassuring sign that we haven’t forgotten about all our fans, and that we have every intention of finishing the series, however long it takes.

So without further ado, turn down the lights, pop this sucker on your HDTV, and ready your body for the next installment in the adventures of Ness, Paula, Jeff, and Poo:
